If the rent does not exceed 808.06 euros per month, you may be eligible for rent allowance. For rent allowance, the incomes of all registered residents at one address are combined. For employees, the annual gross income counts, and for entrepreneurs, the taxable income counts.
For single registrations, the maximum income is 38,520 euros, and for cohabitants, it is 48,224 euros per year. Another prerequisite for rent allowance is that the applicant cannot have too much saved money, with a maximum of 33,748 euros per person.
